RENO ACES BASEBALL TO AIR ON FOX 1450
Press Release
(March 27, 2009) The Reno Aces and Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM will partner this season to broadcast home and road games all season long, the club announced today.
Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM, a member of the Lotus Radio Corporation, will carry the Reno Aces' inaugural campaign-the first season of Triple-A Baseball in Northern Nevada. "Lotus Radio Corporation, Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM is excited about being selected as the radio broadcast partner of the Reno Aces," said Dane Wilt, general manager of the Lotus Radio Corporation. "The community will benefit greatly from the arrival of the Aces, and we're looking forward to being part of the team. Our stations have served the community for 30 years, and we consider our relationship with the Reno Aces as an extension of our community support. I can't wait to hear our first broadcast on April 9 and of course see the first pitch at home on April 17." Behind the mic will be Ryan Radtke, who is in his seventh season calling games for the Triple-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. In addition to his duties with the Aces, Radtke just completed his first season as the radio voice of University of Nevada Wolfpack football and basketball. Radtke is revered around the Pacific Coast League as one of the premier play-by-play voices in all of professional baseball. The last three men to broadcast Diamondbacks' Triple-A games have each moved on to full-time broadcast positions for Major League Baseball clubs. Most recently, Brett Dolan was hired to work on the Houston Astros Radio Network after six seasons with the Tucson Sidewinders. "The relationship between a radio broadcast and the game of baseball is truly unique in the sports world," said SK Baseball Managing Partner Stuart Katzoff. "We've found a great partner in the Lotus Corporation. We really feel that Ryan Radtke's call on 1450 AM this season will provide a soundtrack to the summer in this region." Two webcams have been set-up to allow fans to view construction of the brand-new Aces Ballpark as it happens. These outlets can be viewed online by visiting www.oxblue.com/pro/open/pacriminc/renoaaaballpark or www.cityofreno.com/Index.aspx?page=1532. The Reno Aces Baseball Club, Triple-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, was purchased in 2007 by SK Baseball, led by Managing Partner Stuart Katzoff. The club's downtown ballpark will be the anchor of an exciting Freight House District that includes retail, dining and nightlife venues. |
