KENNEDY JOINS RAYS BASEBALL BROADCASTS

(February 17, 2009) Kevin Kennedy, the former big league manager and studio analyst for FOX Sports MLB, joins the Rays TV crew this season.
Kennedy will serve as one of three analysts for the broadcasts. Brian Anderson, the assistant pitching coach, and Todd Kalas, the host of the Rays pregame and postgame shows, will also take a turn next to play-by-play man Dewayne Staats. The trio replace Joe Magrane, who left the Rays after 11 season for the MLB Network. Kennedy managed the Rangers in 1993 and 1994 and the Red Sox in 1995 and 1996. Staats is entering his 33rd year as a broadcaster, including the last 11 with the Rays. He has announced more than 4,400 major league games. |
