SPORTSCASTER SAUNDERS TO CALL MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
Press Release
(February 6, 2009) The Camden Riversharks announced today that Tim Saunders will be the play-by-play announcer for the team during the upcoming season. The longtime voice of the Philadelphia Flyers will join the Riversharks radio broadcast.

"Tim is going to be a great addition to our team and we're very lucky to have him," said Riversharks General Manager, Adam Lorber. "He's been in the Delaware Valley for twelve years now, and he has a great fan following," he added.

Saunders has worked as a broadcaster in professional hockey for the past seventeen years. In 1997, he joined the Philadelphia Flyers radio team, where he has done play-by-play alongside other broadcasting greats such as Bill Clement, Jim Jackson, Steve Coates, and Brian Propp. Saunders' debut with the Riversharks will be his first experience with baseball since he was a student in college.

"I've always wanted to try my hand at baseball, and it's something that I've kept in the back of my mind all these years," said Saunders. "Nobody believes me when I say it, but I really think that baseball will be more difficult to do than hockey. It will be a fun challenge for me, and I'm really looking forward to it," he added.

Throughout the season, Saunders will mentor Matthew Tymann, a Riversharks intern who will provide color commentary during games. Tymann is an aspiring sports broadcaster, who has previously worked with WGN Radio Chicago, Herndon Braves Baseball, and Georgetown University Radio.

"I'm extremely excited to work with Tim Saunders and the Riversharks. This is a unique opportunity for me to learn from one of the best in the business, and hopefully create a great broadcasting team," said Tymann.
