(January 30, 2009) The Indianapolis Indians and WXLW-950 AM have announced that they will continue their radio partnership for the 2009 season as all Tribe regular-season and postseason games will again be broadcast live on the local all-sports station.

The Indians and XL 950 current radio contract ensures that the Tribe will be heard on XL 950 through at least the 2010 campaign.

Raven Broadcasting operates XL 950 AM Sports Talk and Freedom 95.9 FM Talk Radio. In addition to carrying the Indianapolis Indians, XL 950 is the home for The Zone, The Reggie Wayne Show, Tuesdays with Jeff Saturday, Notre Dame men's basketball, IUPUI men's basketball, Marian College men's basketball, Notre Dame football, Ball State football, Butler football and Cathedral High School football.

"The sports format of XL 950 fits the Indians very well," Tribe Vice President & General Manager Cal Burleson says. "We feel it's important for our fans to know that all of our games will be carried live on a major station. Raven Broadcasting has been an excellent partner and our relationship with them plays a significant role in the marketing of Indians Baseball to our fans."

Returning to the Indianapolis broadcasts in 2009 are Howard Kellman, who enters his 34th season as "Voice of the Tribe" and Scott McCauley, who begins his fourth year as a member of the Indians' broadcast team.

Kellman joined the Indians in 1974 and has been the club's lead play-by-play announcer every season since with the exception of 1975 and 1980. He has also called games for the Chicago White Sox (1984) and Cleveland Cavaliers (1988-89).

Honored as Indiana's Sportscaster of the Year in 2002, Kellman has called IHSAA football and basketball games on WHMB-TV 40 since 1990-91.

McCauley joined the Tribe in 2006 after spending three years at XL 950 (formerly ESPN 950). McCauley hosted "The Meltdown" on Sunday mornings and "Indy College Gameday/Tip-Off" every Saturday. He also covered NBA, NFL, college and high school events for the station.

McCauley has spent parts of eight seasons as a baseball broadcaster. His previous stops include the South Bend Silver Hawks (2000-01), Akron Aeros (2002) and Dayton Dragons (2004-05).
