(January 26, 2009) Along with a new lineup, Fox Sports Radio (FSR) gets a new management team as Clear Channel sports KLAC/Los Angeles GM/PD Don Martin adds new duties as VP/GM of the network. FSR also promotes Annie Zidarevich from OM to director of programming for the network, reporting to Martin. Martin replaces former VP/GM Andrew Ashwood, who died unexpectedly last year.

As part of the company's recent downsizing, it made sense to merge two sports entities that were both based in Los Angeles. In turn, this makes KLAC the official flagship station for the network, which for all practical purposes, means it is the network.

Exiting in the change is KLAC host Mychal Thompson, a former Los Angeles Laker who had already planned to leave at the end of this year's NBA season, moving along with the Lakers play-by-play rights to ESPN sports KSPN/Los Angeles.

The new lineup has already rolled out with changes in markets including Detroit, San Diego, Phoenix, Seattle and Orlando with more likely to follow.

It will be interesting to watch how Martin's more brash programming style infiltrates the traditionally more traditional straight-forward programming previously carried on FSR.
