(January 15, 2009) The Astros and Clear Channel Radio Houston have signed a new contract that will keep Astros games on KTRH (740 AM) for at least the next four years.
Under the terms of the new contract, KTRH will continue as the team’s flagship station through 2012, plus an option for two more years. Spring training games will continue on KTRH and KBME (790 AM). “We’re excited about continuing the relationship,” said Eddie Martiny, Clear Channel Houston’s general manager. “It’s been a great relationship through the years, and we feel it’s been beneficial for KTRH. I thought it would continue, and I’m glad that it will.” Astros senior vice president Jamie Hildreth said, “We’re happy to continue a great, great relationship (with Clear Channel). They’re great, great partners, and KTRH is a very important part of our brand.” |
