(January 9, 2009) In case you're wondering, the Jordan-and-Earl or Earl-and-Jordan Show on XX Sports 1090 is as bad this week as it was last week. If screaming, yelling, fractured language and bad information is your thing, tune in from 3-7 p.m. weekdays and you'll get plenty of it.

Jordan had some idiotic opinions on Trevor Hoffman leaving the Padres to sign with the Brewers. He said Hoffman owed it to the fans to sign with the Padres, and that he'll boo Hoffman when he comes to San Diego.

Hoffman gave the Padres every discount. He's one of the true gentleman in the game. A standup guy, Hoffman was rarely at his locker after saving a game "because that's my job," he'd say. He was, however, front and center after blowing a save "because that's news," he'd say.

Jordan, don't call out Hoffman. Call out the Padres. It's OK to have a contrary opinion, but base it on fact. And don't say you're the voice of the fans when you cut off callers who disagree with you.

The complaints are pouring in to the station about Jordan and Earl. The switchboard is so jammed, it's nearly impossible to get through. Of the nearly 500 e-mails received at the station, 99 percent are negative. Morale among station employees is at an all-time low.

Of the more than 50 calls and e-mails received at the North County Times, only one person supports the show.

Hey, I don't fault Earl and Jordan here. They're two fans taking advantage of an extraordinary ---- if misguided ---- opportunity for two fans with no experience to have a daily radio show.

My question is: If you think this is the right move, why put them in the evening drive slot ---- the most important time in radio? Why not try 9 p.m.-midnight, and if the people eat it up, make a change?

A bad, bad decision by management has led to horrible, horrible radio.
