STAA'S TAGLAVORE JOINS NSU BROADCASTS
Press Release
(July 14, 2008) STAA client and veteran television and radio broadcaster Tony Taglavore will join the Northwestern State University broadcast team for football and women’s basketball.
Taglavore, from Shreveport, Louisiana, will provide color commentary during the Demons’ 2008 season. He will join another Shreveporter and STAA client, Patrick Netherton, who enters his sixth year as the “Voice of the Demons”. In addition, Taglavore will be the “Voice of the Lady Demons” for the 2008-2009 season. “I am excited beyond words,” Taglavore said. “I covered NSU’s athletic program many years, and have been a fan for many more years. Under the guidance of Athletic Director Greg Burke and Sports Information Director Doug Ireland, the Demons do things one way—first class. It is an honor to be a part of their athletic family.” This will be Taglavore’s first Division One broadcasting assignment. Northwestern plays football in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division 1-AA). Both football and women’s basketball teams compete in the Southland Conference. In addition to Network affiliates throughout Louisiana, all Demons and Lady Demons broadcasts can be heard at www.nsudemons.com. Football and basketball season will be a busy time for Taglavore. He will also host “Tiger Talk”, a one-hour, weekly, LIVE call-in show devoted entirely to LSU football. “Tiger Talk” will air on 50,000-watt KWKH-AM in Shreveport (the home of LSU sports), as well as stream live at www.kwkhonline.com. Taglavore sold the show as well. Also, for the second straight year, Taglavore will be the play-by-play voice for Captain Shreve High School football. The Gators play in Class 5-A, Louisiana’s highest athletic classification. He will continue his duties as the official Master of Ceremonies for several PetroSun Independence Bowl functions. This year’s game will once again feature a match-up between the Southeastern Conference and the Big 12 Conference. |
