EMPLOYER CONCERNED ABOUT DONALDSON'S DRINKING
(July 11, 2008) Word from TV land is that the Channel 7 suits are concerned - very concerned - about this week’s explosive court testimony that portrays sportsgal Julie Donaldson as a hard-drinking party gal.

WHDH, just recovering from the scandal surrounding former GM Randi Goldklank, did not need the added aggravation of having their ex-beauty-queen eye candy caught up in an ugly domestic-abuse case that included details of her copious consumption of alcohol and allegations that she made a sex tape with her alleged abuser.

“After the Goldklank thing, that won’t fly,” said one TV insider. “Not to mention, who brings home six girls from a bar to party with?”

In case you somehow missed it, Donaldson’s boyfriend, professional slamball slimeball Ivan Lattimore, was held without bail on charges that he punched the former Miss Florida in the face, breaking bones, threw her against a wall and groped another woman in a booze-fueled rampage after a night of partying at a Back Bay club.

Although Donaldson is allegedly the primary victim, word is the sordid details of the hours leading up to the June 27 attack are making the Channel 7 suits squirm.

Donaldson said she drank two Bloody Marys at lunch that day, three glasses of sangria and four shots in the afternoon, and several shots at Saint.

Also, Lattimore’s defense attorney contends that she and her boyfriend videotaped themselves having sex just hours before the alleged assault. Another bizarre twist to the story is Donaldson’s admission that she invited six women she had just met back to her apartment after the bar closed to “keep the party going.”

One of the women alleges that Lattimore groped her. Another says he went into a rage and grabbed her by the hair. All of which added up to a trip to the can for Lattimore - and one big ugly PR disaster for ’HDH!

“I don’t think they could fire her because she is the victim here,” said our spy. “But if there is a morals clause in her contract, she could be in violation. And if her credibility becomes an issue because of this, that’s also a problem. The most likely scenario is that they will probably just phase her out. They are not very loyal to talent over there. Of course, if the sex tape hits YouTube, all bets are off.”

Channel 7 acting GM Mike Carson declined comment yesterday. But the fact that the station has not issued any kind of statement supporting Donaldson during her ordeal speaks volumes.

’HDH, of course, is still reeling from the resignation last month of general manager Randi Goldklank. Goldklank had been on administrative leave since an April incident at Logan Airport where she went on a booze-and-prescription-drug-fueled tirade when police took her into custody for being an unruly passenger.
