(February 13, 2008) CN8, The Comcast Network, has revamped its late-night weeknight lineup, with fresh formats for a pair of live shows.
Debuting on Feb. 11, the Emmy Award-winning Money Matters Today has a new time slot at 11 p.m. (ET) and a revised format, while sports show Out of Bounds Late Night features a new host and presentation at 11:30 p.m. Money Matters Today's all-new, live format focuses on both local/regional financial news, as well as what's happening on Wall Street and the international markets. Emmy Award-winning host Mary Caraccioli welcomes financial experts from the network's six major studios to provide breaking financial news and analysis, discuss trends and preview what to expect after the opening bell. Regular segments include: "Driving the Markets" -- a look at the big business stories of the day; and "Going Global," in which hot topics from around the world are examined for their potential impact on U.S. markets and consumers. "One of the most critical issues facing the country today is the economy and Money Matters Today will fill a void as the only live television program at 11 p.m. devoted to providing up-to-the-minute financial news and analysis," said CN8 vice president and general manager Jon Gorchow in a statement. For its part, Out of Bounds Late Night is a live action-packed sports show featuring a daily recap of highlights from the major match-ups, events, stories and issues across the CN8 footprint of 12 eastern states. Hosted by veteran sports broadcaster, Jeff Rickard, who joins the network from a nationally syndicated sport shows on Sporting News Radio and ESPN, the 30-minute roundup will showcase the day's best sports moments with commentary and analysis from regular contributors from the network's studios. "Jeff brings a wealth of sports and broadcast journalism to CN8, and we are excited to welcome him to the Out of Bounds team," added Gorchow. "Both of these show changes reflect CN8's continued commitment to provide quality original programming that is meaningful and relevant to our viewers." These additions follow the Feb. 10 debut of new weekly half-hour political roundtable show, Roll Call TV with Robert Traynham. CN8 counts some 9 million subscribers. |
